Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Langley, BC with my two brothers and house filled with pets. I moved to Vancouver five years ago for work and to make my own household and have called Vancouver my homebase ever since.
I currently work in the city doing a variety of seasonal jobs and gigs that I find let me be creative and are exhilarating places with incredible ties to friends I've met. My day job I do for the most part is working in a non-profit organization as a child and youth worker doing a spectrum of afterschool clubs and programming for school aged kids.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I took up an offer to hitch hike to Montreal and back for a few months in the summer of 2014 with my best friend and we used her couchsurfing account. We were met with such kindness and understanding from strangers and it charged something in me. We have to be able to trust and believe in one another. Strangers especially. How we treat strangers that come into our lives represents how we feel about humanity as a whole.
Paying it forward is one of the greatest things I can do and offering a place to stay while I am not travelling is something I think keeps the joy alive that I had experienced travelling. When I'm not on the road going somewhere I hope I can see the joy in others as they are on their adventure and we can share a conversation or I can offer them a place to be on their journey. Later down the road when I go on my next adventure I'd like to have built up more of a network for friends who live near and far.
Interests
I love to bike ride in the city. I usually have an extra bike around so I take my friends to places in and around the city on bikes. I love eating out and usually go with friends often to great spaces in the city. I am very involved with my friends and have a pretty outgoing social group. There are always friends I'm sharing time with.

What I Can Share with Hosts
At my house I'm able to offer an available bed, access to the utilities and kitchen, and most often some chance of getting to see and know the city a little bit better from someone who knows it well.
My space is not always available, but our house's culture always has someone visiting or spending time with us who isn't a member of our household.
