About Me

British by birth, European by heart.

"We will always have more in common than that which divides us. " I believe the best outcomes are when people work together to achieve a common goal.

I'm a sociable software engineer with space to spare. My last major expedition lasted 5 months and took me to 7 countries. Hopefully it won't be long before I can go an another adventure.

I'm more likely to accept requests on week nights as I'm usually off exploring on weekends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to meet interesting, friendly people.

I love to travel, experience new cultures, ideas and outlooks on life and I think the best way to see a city is with someone who knows it well. My favourite experiences have always been visiting friends abroad and really living in a place, rather just visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: rock, blues, folk, metal, indie, electronic (Million Dead, HOME, Jeff Rosenstock, Emmy the Great, the Faceless, Public Service Broadcasting, etc). I love live music and gigs, I'm most happy sitting in a pub listening to a local band or at the Corn Exchange when the latest big name is coming through.

Movies: all sorts, comedy, horror, sci-fy. I've got a big film collection but I'm also looking to find new great movies.

Books: most recently read Attack of the 50ft Blockchain and I'm generally a fan of non-fiction writing although a good immersive novel is the best! I'm currently reading Far from the Madding Crowd.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked from Uni through France to the south coast of Spain to raise money for charity (and to have a great time) then ran the society the next year so others could have the same experience I did.

Teach, Learn, Share

Programming. If you're interested. As part of my studies I've taught programming to undergrads and I'm more than happy to pass on these valuable skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A positive outlook and stories from around the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Portugal, Spain, Tanzania, United States
