About Me
2 years ago, I moved to France to work in a Ski resort for the Winter. It turns out, I didn't feel like moving back home to England after that and somehow ended up living in Hungary ever since!
I'm a huge fan of searching for cheap flights and taking advantage of them whenever possible - it still blows my mind that I can buy a flight for less money than the cost of a good meal (in my old hometown of Bristol, at least)!
I've always saved and used my own money from hard work to travel the world which has been very rewarding. I have been lucky enough to have very flexible jobs and currently work a laptop job where I can work anywhere in the world - a dream come true for me! Don't get me wrong though, if I won the lottery and could spend the rest of my life travelling without working, I wouldn't complain ;)
I love to meet people and talk about any subject, ranging from music and politics right down to pointless conversations about pizza toppings (I used to work at Pizza Hut as a teenager, so I'm an expert after all). No topic is off-limits providing everyone else is comfortable with it. I'm difficult to offend and am often told I'm cursed with British politeness - sorry about that. ;)
I have a huge admiration for anyone who is bi-lingual, even if it's just a basic understanding of English and have infinite time and patience for anyone going out of their way to speak or have a conversation in English with me as their second language. My biggest regret in life is not learning a second language in my younger years. To top it off, sadly I ended up settling in a country with one of the hardest languages in the world to learn (with a 44 letter alphabet, no less) - but hey, I'm still trying!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have always wanted to try it and figured now is as good a time as any!
I'm a sociable person and until now usually stayed in hostels where meeting people was my favorite part of travelling, so I figured, why not take the plunge and try it out, what's the worst that could happen? :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very wide range of interests when it comes to these topics, but to name a few favorites
Movie: Hot Fuzz
Book: Man in the high castle
Music: Tame Impala
I'm very open minded when it comes to personal taste. I understand that just because I don't like something doesn't mean that it is bad, it just means it's not something that appeals to me personally!
Also if a film or TV show was shot in your country, let me know! I love trying to spot the locations I've visited!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Over the past 3 years I volunteered at 15 different music festivals in the UK. At first it was just a free way to get entry into some cool festivals, but over the years, I really started to appreciate the volunteering aspect and really enjoyed raising a lot of money for charity in the process so signed up for more and more.
Teach, Learn, Share
I always love to try and learn the basics of every language when I'm visiting a country (even if I'm terrible most of the time). I'm love to share stories and experiences with people in foreign countries. I'm always up for sharing good company and a little slice of each others' culture :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Endless conversation about any topic and an easy going atmosphere!
I can cook to a decent level and would love to share some recipes. I'm a huge fan of cooking with fresh ingredients and learning a thing or two about local cuisine in the process.
