About Me

Born and raised in Boise, ID. I've traveled around the United States for the last 4 years for my job and managed to get outside of the U.S. a few times as well. This travel has gotten me extremely excited about exploring the world and all of its wonders.

I work for a company called Jitasa, which is a Thai word meaning 'the spirit of serving others'. I've been there since the summer of 2010 and truly do enjoy all of the people I work with and the opportunity to serve the nonprofit industry. We provide back office bookkeeping and accounting services to nonprofits around the country all from Boise, ID. We do also have an office in Bangkok, Thailand that I've been fortunate enough to visit.

I love being out doors equally to spending time at restaurants or in quaint coffee shops. I'm adventurous, but do wish to preserve my life. Example, I want to go to base camp of Mt. Everest, but don't have any interest in climbing to the top of Mt. Everest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing for multiple reasons. Obviously cost is a factor for most interested in traveling and seeing the world. However what I'm most interested in is getting a feel for local cultures and people. I truly am curious about the world and its beautiful people.

Interests

Clearly I love traveling. I love spending time in coffee shops enjoying the company of my friends, or people I've never met before. I played baseball and lacrosse in college and continue to play team sports in city leagues. I am consistently working on my fitness and always looking to learn new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much everything accept for screamo and heavy metal. But I'm extremely passionate about EDM and music festivals in general. I read a lot of books about business strategy, management and leadership. But I really enjoy my science fiction books. My favorite series is the Vampire Earth series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I designed the workflow and team integration for my companies first international office in Bangkok, Thailand in 2012. I flew over there for a few weeks to train staff that knew minimal English, and enjoyed beyond my imagination the spirit of the culture that greeted me. That experience gave me a great appreciation for the life that I have, and drove me to understand cultures across the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach
Skill wise I work for a bookkeeping and accounting firm solely dedicated to the nonprofit industry. If it deals with management, administration, fundraising, program management, or accounting in the nonprofit sector, I've got some experience in all of the above. I've consulted for nonprofits across the U.S. on their management and tracking systems for point of sales softwares, donor management, and accounting software.

Beyond skills in the world of business I work to help people learn about their own passions, their own desires, and their own goals. I truly am passionate about getting to know people, understanding how they got to where they are today and how to get to where they want to go tomorrow.

I'm also a focused fitness athlete in the realm of physique. I typically eat a very focused diet which has enabled me to physically become the person I want to be. Very often I help people create personal plans for increasing muscle or dropping fat.

Learn
I want to learn everything. Intelligence is one of the most beautiful things that anyone can offer me. This includes history of our world, cultural differences, language and everything else you can imagine.

Share
I really just want to share me. My spirit, my happiness in this life, and my past if you're willing to sit through hearing about it. I like growing through conversations with others, I'm never stuck with an opinion I arrive at a conversation with.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share first and foremost myself and my experiences. I can also share some insight and knowledge in the areas that I listed as share above.

If we hook up ahead of travel time and there is something specific from the U.S. that you'd like me to bring, I'll see what I can do. :)

I'm also an avid photographer and have my gear with me 100% of the time that I travel. I love capturing people when they don't know they're photo is being taken. And of course I love taking photos of beautiful landscape, particularly sunrises and sunsets.

I can teach anyone about eating healthy to gain muscle or lose weight, as well as teach you about most American sports and particularly weight lifting.
