About Me
👏Welcome to my profile👏
--NOT HOSTING DUE TO APOCALYPTIC CONDITIONS--
I'm Jonathon Smith, I was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. I've always been fascinated by the ways of the road and the people that walk it.
So, a bit of backstory, if you are interested:
As a teenager I spent my days off school in the woods, building bonfires, forts and lounging in brooks and rivers. I was in Army Cadets where I learned survival skills, keeping my gear in shape and building confidence in keeping myself alive on my own. I hitchhiked around nearby towns and other such adventures, experimented with art and music, and above all longed to spend my life on the road or surrounded by those that are.
I've travelled on and off over the years, I've worked a few interesting jobs and went on a few wacky endeavours. I've hitchhiked the maritimes. I've been a vagabond on a couple occasions.
So, without further adieu, the information you are probably looking for:
Right now, I've settled down for the cold seasons with my "partner-in-crime" or "road-dog" (and other cheesy titles) in my foggy hometown of Saint John. We have a beautiful basement apartment on the east side near the mall.
We spend our time playing music, sewing, painting, going on aventures, camping, cooking, playing with the animals and making conversation. We love guests, and we feel our home is incomplete without them. This is why I am here, offering you the coziest, most welcoming and wholesome environment you could ask for.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Our home is incomplete without some travelling folk. We love guests.
The way we see it is if we're not on the road, we might as well help out those that are. There's never enough kindness in this world!
Interests
I love art, and entertaining people.
Creating things, whether by paint, drawing, music or food - is an amazing experience like no other.
I've been drawing my whole life. I've been playing music for 7 years. I've only started cooking more than canned junk last year. Regardless, I love it all. It's things like that I can do simply just to make people smile.
I love fixing things, I'm not a pro at using tools and hardware but I can sew and do minor maintenance.
Adventuring is a big one. I would die if I didn't go into the woods every once in a while. I love hitch hiking and travelling about to see the world in the rough.
I love taking photos of things. I'm not as good as I once was but it's something😬
I love telling stories about life, jobs, adventures and crazy situations. LOOK AT MY "FRIENDS AND ADVENTURES" PHOTOS FOLDER!!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge punk, but I don't let that stray away from the softer genres - sometimes I love to sit back and relax to some folk or classic country. I kill the 50's rock n' roll on the ol' six string as well.
As for movies, Studio Ghibli movies are ranked as the cutest, most relaxing movies in my books. I'm also a mega Star Wars nerd, you hit me with any trivia.
I must be immature as heck because I laugh my head off at Spongebob. Bob's Burgers is also a goodie. On a more serious note, Bojack Horseman is great, and Breaking Bad is a hit.
We got lots of books, I enjoy political ones such as Orwell's. I also love Star Wars books. Comics are great, such as Calvin and Hobbes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've hitch-hiked all over Eastern Canada.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can tell you all about the maritimes and the history of our homeland.
If you have any questions on how and where to get somewhere local, I'm glad to show you our kitchen which we've kindly plastered maps of the area on any surface that's safe. If we don't have something you need to know, I'll do some poking and find out for you.
We can try to teach you a bit of English if you're learning.
Wanna learn to sew? We got you covered.
Art? We'll help you out.
And cooking, oh man, we will show you recipes you'll take home and impress your family.
Music - We've been practicing music for years. We'll offer some advice.
You name it folks, just ask!😀
What I Can Share with Hosts
