Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my solo trip to Fairbanks, never having heard of the couchsurfing community, I decided to find some unique places to stay on airbnb. I settled on a small "dry cabin" just outside the town. The host there, and her small neighborhood family, were the most awesome people in the world. Barely even knowing me, I was welcomed to spend Christmas brunch, then all day Christmas festivities, with the whole group. I had never come close to experiencing that degree of hospitality. A lot of these folks had experience with couchsurfing, so they introduced me to the site. Experiences like this are why I'm here!

I'm on a big Brandon Sanderson kick right now. Just finished the Mistborn trilogy and moving into his more recent releases. Other favorite authors are Terry Pratchett, Tolkein, Orson Scott Card, GRR Martin.

I love scifi and fantasy movies, as well as the Marvel Universe films and all of Quentin Tarantino's work. Special mentions go out to se7en, fight club, and Pan's Labyrinth.
