Overview
About Me
Open-minded, warm, cerebral explorer. Fluent in English and Spanish. Vegan. Well read and well traveled.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people and expand my circle of friends. Travelling experiences are enriched immeasurably by other people: I hope to gain from, and contribute to, this process.
I'm grateful when people respond to my requests to be hosted, whether or not they accept me. It makes planning much easier, and it creates a poor impression when you see that someone has logged in but hasn't bothered to send you a message. Let's spread the positive energy, folks. :)
Interests
Running, veganism, history, languages, literature, music, meditation, nature (especially birds and mountains).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: classical, jazz, blues, and World.
Films: hundreds. I particularly like the Silver Screen and many arthouse and non-English films.
Books: where to start? Reading is one of my greatest pleasures. Currently obsessed by Russian history and literature and am reading a fictionalised biography of Shostakovich.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived for several months in the Himalayas.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach History & Spanish for a living. I have also taught English as a foreign language, and I used to be a lawyer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Warmth and good conversation. I'm polite, tidy, and don't need looking after (although it would be excellent to spend time with hosts if they are free).
