ABOUT ME
I am a loyal, fascinated man who likes to practice by the rules of the greater society, play by the rules of your game and make up the rules of my own life as I go along.
I am a performer, so I love to talk, tell stories, jokes and create vibrant relationships, even if they only last a few minutes. I'm a big listener too: I love to learn about backgrounds, history, and anything you can say to hold my attention. I'm not a big fan of drama and can detect bullshit pretty well, so I like to keep it real, honest and straightforward as much as possible.
I'm a very active person. I like to go go go from morning till night, unless it's the fourth or fifth day of this and kickin' back is in order. Being a New Yorker, I know how to walk, but I LOVE to bike. I enjoy hiking and swimming as well. I'm a culture seeker, whether it's a museum, film festival, or underground art-party. Finally, I am all about food. Local, fresh, unique, famous, home-grown, outstanding stuff, plunk me down in front of it and make sure there's somethin to drink too!
PHILOSOPHY
I try not to waste time doing things I don't love.
I try to be true to myself.
I try to be kind, honest, and helpful at any and all junctions.
I try to see the truth and joy in everyday moments.
I try to find the good and sense in the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I am traveling with you outside of NYC I will be like a large round loofa, simply SOAKING in all of the experience, learning, listening, asking questions and gazing at beauty
If I am traveling with you inside NYC, I will be receptive, engaging, and helpful to the utmost degree, considering my lifelong experience as a New Yorker and my 6 years of experience as a tour guide in this vibrant city.
If I am giving you a tour on the NY Water Taxi, I will be the best tour guide i can possibly be and I will be telling as many bad jokes as you can handle.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Frank, my first CS host, was an angel. Offering a nice apartment from the cold of Beijing's icy December, and Peking Duck on the house in our first night. He was smart, funny, gracious, curious and the definition of a sweetheart!
Austin and Rodrigo were my most recent hosts and they were, in a word, unbelievable. They estimated hosting 100 people over the course of 10 weeks!!!(?!?!?!) Sweet, easygoing, smart and accepting, they deserve a medal.
I've found Couchsurfers to be more than just travelers. They are an international community of cool people. Open, easygoing, active, fun, they just go where the excitement is. There are always exceptions in cases of the weirdos, the layabouts and the drama queens, but what can ya do? There's always a few bad apples in the bunch.
Interessi
I'm finding myself more interested in history as time goes on, which is perfect because every person and every place has a beautiful, relevant, crucial piece of history.
I'm a big movie nut and if you know your stuff I'll squat down with you and brawl through a great film chat.
Live music pulses through my veins whenver I get to it and watch yoself cuz i will DANCE.
I like a good piece of art that I can get lost in, and same goes for a good book or beautiful landscape.
I'm a bit outdoorsy and have no problem trekkin it as long as I have a happy traveling mate and/or a breathtaking atmosphere

Jonah's school of great NYC facts:
The City of New York does not exist.
The Greater City of New York was formed in 1898, when the five boroughs were combined into one city: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Staten Island, Queens, and Manhattan.
Brooklyn: My home, my love, my life, would be the 4th largest city in the country if it were it's own city with 2.5 million people. The home of the Cyclone, Coney Island, Juniors Cheesecake, Nathan's Hotdogs, F. Murray Abraham, 2 of the Beastie Boys, my Grandmother and me along with at least 40 other famous people I can name off the top of my head (ask and ye shall receive).
The Bronx: Named with "The" because it belonged to a wealthy Dutch landowner, Jonas Bronck. It stayed in the Bronck family name for quite some time, and so if you were going to any part of that area, you would be going to the Bronck's estate. We just shortened it eventually
Staten Island: In the 1700's, Staten Island was a disputed land mass between New Jersey and New York. The winner of a sail boat race would determine who would own Staten Island hence-forth and like many debacles in history, New York won. Staten Island is the 4th largest Island off the coast of the US
Queens: The home of the Mets, JFK and LaGuardia Airport, the Ramones and the 1964 World's fair, which you may remember from the climax of the film "Men in Black", and much of "Iron Man 2". It gets it's name because there were two counties in New York that were to honor the King and Queen. (Brooklyn is Kings county and they both lovingly share the Western tip of long island)
Manhattan: The City. New Yorkers really call Manhattan the city, regardless of which borough you live it. The Island of Manhattan is tiny--13 miles long, 2 and a half miles wide at it's widest point. This is why the grid system works so well. North of Houston St. (about 90% Manhattan), all the streets run east and west, all the avenues run north and south. Broadway cuts through it all, Running Southeast-Northwest.
