One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The boneyard in Tucson, AZ. A huge plot of land where airplanes are retired. Graffiti artists were commissioned to use some of the steel giants as their canvas. I'm not sure if it was the surrealism and size, or the fact that an almost identical scene from my favorite book, but I was staggered.

The first time I went rappelling, instructed to go to the edge and hang my heels from the precipice. Shifting my center of gravity out over the tops of pines and polished stone until the rope is the only thing holding you. I'm terrified of heights, and this showed me that a larger part of me exists beyond fear.
