About Me
Hi, my name is Jonas :)
I'm a medical student in my 4th year and part-time paramedic living in Heidelberg, which is located in southern Germany. I was born and mostly grew up in Palatinate, a region known among Germans for its landscape, laid-back yet lively people, and wine.
A passion of mine is travelling, especially by foot with a tent. It doesn't matter if it's abroad or just around the corner - my favourite place is the forest. However, apart from occasionally spending time alone, I usually find myself seeking company and socialising.
This summer I started my biggest trip yet: 6 months in various countries. So I got Couchsurfing to meet locals and travellers, hear their stories and share some kindness. In addition, I hope to make some friends along the way, maybe even some travellers to accompany a bit.
Therefore, I'm still new to Couchsurfing, so I haven't hosted many people yet and don't have many references. However, when I return to Germany, I'm looking forward to make other people feel at home in my town.
I'm also a vegetarian. If you are my future host and thinking about cooking for me (which is wonderful, but you don't have to do it), please keep in mind that I don't eat meat or fish. I don't want to cause you any trouble, so I have no problem getting my own food in stores.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's a beautiful idea. Meeting the locals at their place provides a much better travelling experience than staying in Hotels. I'm also grateful for the spirit of Couchsurfers to not only welcome me in their home, but also share their company, help and advice.
When I return home, I'll definitely try to make travellers feel just as welcome at my couch.

Music, Movies, and Books
Singer-Songwriter, German Rap (although not at all Gangsta Rap), Indie, Alternative and many more...
Some of my favourite artists are The Beatles, Gisbert zu Knyphausen, Portugal. The Man, Radical Face, Spaceman Spiff, The Cat Empire, Noah and the Whale, Enno Bunger, Pink Floyd, Faber, Mumford and Sons, Xavier Rudd, OK KID and Umse.
I'm always trying to find new stuff. So go ahead and show me your music, I'm happy to discover something new. If you play an instrument - even better! If I get my hands on a guitar, we can play and sing together.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once put two raw eggs in my mouth at the same time without breaking them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to improve my French, Russian and Chess, learn a new card game and discover new songs to listen to. I recently bought myself a camera, but I'm still a beginner at photography. I'm thankful for any advice or help you share with me. Even if it's just little things.
I like meaningful conversations more than small talk. Let's grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine or beer and talk about nature, history, philosophy, your favourite book and the moments that made us laugh the loudest in our lifetime.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could teach you how to play chess or guitar and the German language. I can also help you practice English, but I'm not a native speaker, so my English is not perfect either. If you are interested, I'll also tell you about my town and german culture or share my music.
