I'm Jonas, I'm originally from northern Sweden (Östersund), but am now based in Melbourne, Australia. I moved here recently to live with my fiancee and to enjoy the Australian heatwaves :/

I like traveling and outdoor things, and have traveled through Europe multiple times. My first trip was with an Interrail pass. It was a great experience, seeing new places and meeting like minded people from all over the world. It was also the first time I spoke English to a native speaker, I'd like to think I've improved since then!

That first trip inspired me to take time off work to do a longer trip through eastern Europe. During my travels I met many people traveling on their bikes, and talking with them and hearing their stories made me decide that my next trip would definitely be on a bike. So the year after I went on a bike trip from my home town in Sweden down through western Europe to Morocco.

When I'm not traveling I like to hike, camp, fish and ski (yes, you can ski in Australia!)

I also like trains.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet people. I like to hear other people's travel stories and also to hear about the places where they're from. I'm very interested to learn new things, even the small things in life.

Music - I have the radio station in the car set to classic oldies songs, but otherwise happy to listen to most things.

I moved to Australia to live with my partner.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Swedish and Norwegian, as well as typical Scandinavian things like skiing and the art of walking on ice so you don't fall on your face (although this has yet to work on my fiancee).
I enjoy learning everything!
