Hello everybody,

I am currently on a rambling trip through New Zealand which has been in fact, one of the most radical, ground-breaking, and challenging under takings that I have yet to engage in in my 23 years on Planet Earth. I love the outdoors and adventure, whether its multi-day hikes/getting lost in the forest and eventually making it out, Tearing up the world on a dirt bike or mountain bike, or just hanging out playing some golf and drinking some beers; bottom line is I love a good time. Being American, the learning a second language is a challenge, but I am picking up some French from my education and just talking to French friends in New Zealand. Hopefully I can pick up some Dutch, German, Italian, Spainish... little bit of everything really. I am currently traveling with my partner Jen, who was silly enough to travel NZ in a van for 7 months. Oh, and I love dogs and cats, really animals in general.

I am on couch surfing because I think it is the best way to make friends and get a locals take on where ever you are, its just an awesome idea and I want to take part in it!

Music: Beatles, Daft Punk, Rolling Stones, Zac Brown band, The Hives, The Strokes.

Movies: a tough question for me... I tend to like films that know that they are films and point to, and play with that fact. For Example: Scream, The Endless Summer II, Inglorious Basterds, Hiroshima Mon Amour.

Books: I've read and loved most of Hemmingway's stuff as well as F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Sun Also Rises, Tender Is the Night). Other than that I like a lot Jon Krakauer (Where Men Win Glory, Into Thin Air), and I am currently in a state of fascination with Lance Armstrong so I am reading quite a bit about him.

Coolest Place I have ever been is Mt. Cook national park on the South Island of New Zealand! The views from the Mueller hut are incredible! Just Incredible!

I have a passion for the environment and the principles of sustainability and I love sharing ideas and concepts as well as learning how different people live different ways in an effort to reduce their own carbon footprint. I particularly enjoy hearing these stories of transformation and the experience of the individual.
