I traveled through the desert in Angola in a Ford F-250, sleeping on the roof and fishing and bartering for food. This was in 2009 when the borders had just opened and most people wouldn't dare visit. It was so primitive and beautifully 3rd world. It is so untouched and exotic. Best experience of my life. I have 3,000 photos I'd gladly share with you.
