Hey there! Jonathan here, I was a New Yorker through way of Bermuda (where I was born), Boston (where I grew up), Michigan and Montreal (where I went to school), and am now living and traveling in Germany. I'm an opera singer, have traveled around the world to study and pursue this career, and love every minute of it!

I've performed on large opera stages and small living rooms, all the world is a stage! Recently I've toured throughout Germany with an opera band, through Italy with a Gospel group, and performed in a musical as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. It's amazing where passion and pursuit can take you... The adventure continues.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a traveling performer, singing my way through cities and exploring what these great places have to offer, looking to make new friends, possibly sing for some suppers, and/or cook for you I we prepare to take the world by storm! I also find washing dishes and ironing very therapeutic, just FYI.

Interests

I love to travel, and have been on the road since 2015, suitcase always packed and in a new location almost weekly.

Music is one of my main interests, since it is my profession, and I love learning all different styles and languages of music. One of my 'party tricks' is singing The Prayer as both Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli.. It's something...

Reading, cooking, working out, walking around the city and meeting people round out the rest of my main interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just spent the summer in Edinburgh performing the musical Rent at the Fringe Festival. Met hundreds and hundreds of people, ate great food, and got to perform an amazing show with a great cast every night. I had a blast, and hope to go back to the festival again!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share many different accents from my travels, a little song for my supper/stay, am great at dish washing and ironing, and telling tales of all my previous travel 'struggles' - my nickname is 'GeezJawn' from my various adventures... And misadventures :-)
