I'm a musician and perennial literature student, so as you might expect I spend a lot of time hanging around looking like I'm not doing much (but my brain is constantly anxiously working!).

The Mountain Goats! I'm a huge huge Mountain Goats fan and proselytise for them the world over. Outside of that I'm into indie and lyrical kinda stuff in general (Neutral Milk Hotel, of Montreal, Joanna Newsom, Josh Ritter), and branch out into Black Sabbath and hip-hop and jazz territories too.

I love Leonora Carrington and surrealist art and movies (Jan Svankmajer is my hero!); I haunt the local independent cinemas. I'm a Sylvia Plath sort of poetry person, and read H.P. Lovecraft to scare myself, William Blake to feel inadequate and overawed, Kazuo Ishiguro and Haruki Murakami and... lotsa stuff.

I major in considering other people's things amazing and kinda playing down my own experiences, but I do suffer from anxiety and depression so sometimes just meeting new people and leaving the house and doing THINGS is kind of amazing for me.

I fell off a mountain in Switzerland once! A sheer drop and a long roll, and nothing broken, nothing bruised. I'm a lucky faller.
