About Me

- "Cover the Earth Before it Covers You"

I'm on a months long journey across Southern Mexico, to see the wonderful landscapes and meet the amazing people along the way. I'm not traveling to party, but to really soak in the culture as much as I can, and to try and feel like a local before I leave.
I'm really into nature and hiking, and I'm trying to learn Spanish at the moment. I'm always down to help cook up a big dinner and to help with things around the house. I'm also easy when it comes to accommodations :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love connecting with people from different backgrounds and hearing their perspective on reality and life in general in order to expand my own. As a younger person I think it’s very important to expose myself to as many new ideas as possible to expand my empathy in interactions with others.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really not a big movie guy, but I love a good book; especially an adventure novel or an interesting non-fiction. I really like Jack Kerouac and Michael Pollan.
I think life without music would be boring, and I'm always looking for new music to check out and dance to. When I'm looking to dance I like to listen to old-school Hip-Hop or Afrobeats. When I'm at home cooking dinner I really like to listen to Folk or Americana; I guess I'm into the more souly genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Honestly, the biggest thing that I've done recently is decide to go on this Mexico trip and leave the comfort of my own home. It's been almost 4 years since I've left the US the last time and it took a lot of trust in myself to make this happen; it's what matters the most to me in life. I'm just happy to be back on the road again and meeting all of the cool people along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help with learning English (maybe even in exchange for learning Spanish :))
I'm also a side-gig barber back home so if you've got some clipper or scissors I've got you.
I was a bicycle mechanic for a few years and can help tune up / fix your bike and teach you some basics.
I've also managed native pollinator gardens for multiple parks and can help you design one for your own home, or how to better manage your own garden to improve the biodiversity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, and would love to make communal meals together. I can help teach fluent English, and I'm handy with my hands if you need any help around the house. I like to think that the best thing I can offer my host is good conversation and experiences :)
