About Me

Hey!

A few things about me.. I am a straight male, raised Christian but not practicing, that works a standard 8-5 as a Software Developer. I spend my evenings split between a few different hobbies (chief of which is currently ballroom dance) and socializing with friends.

I enjoy the occasional drink, but I don't use any other drugs. That said, to each their own. I do not partake simply because I have a bad reaction to anything outside of alcohol.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I intend to start traveling soon. While AirBnB offers a lot of options in terms to cheaper accommodations, it doesn't have the potential of meeting new people.

I am constantly looking to broaden my horizons. I feel that a great way to do that is to meet new people and experience new things. Right now, I am in a transition between apartments, but eventually I will want to host as well as "surf".

I look forward to becoming more active in this area!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to label something as "amazing", but something that I have done that has been very fulfilling is that I was a Big Brother in the Big Brother Big Sister mentoring program for five years. In this program, I became the friend and mentor of an inner city kid that came from a VERY different background than myself. He and I hung out almost every Sunday for those five years and during that time, I got to learn a great deal about his culture. I became incredibly interested in meeting and coming to know people from different walks of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very passionate about self improvement. I love to help others become the versions of themselves that they want to be. That said, I am constantly looking for new ways to shape that vision of the man I want to be, so I am always trying to learn and experience new things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I consider myself a skilled conversationalist. I endeavor to be very open minded and I am always trying to challenge my pre-conceived notions about people and situations. The greatest thing I can offer to my hosts is my ability to be positive and my genuine interest in their lives.
