About Me
Heya!
I'm Jon. What a pleasure to cross paths with you!
As you can tell, I grew up in Singapore and am currently training to be a doctor in the UK.
I've fallen in love with all things European!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
"Strangers are just friends who haven't met yet."
A tad trite but not without truth.
Meeting people in the most unexpected ways has to be the most memorable thing about travelling!
I do like being part of an international community. Meeting Australians at a hostel in Croatia is really fun, and boy do they know how to party! But I'd also like to meet locals whilst travelling to see how they live and learn their language.
For example, I only speak a smattering of broken French but whatever I have I owe to the lovely French couchsurfer who taught me how to order in a restaurant and then forced me to do so whilst she watched.
Interests
A really good glass (okay fine, bottle) of wine. Better if we can talk about who made it, where and how. I am a massive wine geek!
I compensate for my wine habit by hitting the gym a few times a week.
A good dance! Preferably under the stars and by sea.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cycled to the top of some of France highest mountains. Mont Ventoux, Alp D'Huez, Tourmalet...
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Canada, China, Croatia, France, Japan, Malaysia, Montenegro, New Zealand, Switzerland, Thailand, United States
