Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm Jonathan — a 29‑year‑old IT innovation student and tech wizard from Omaha who stands six feet tall with a heart set on the horizon. Between late nights learning about tech, flying my drone, and improvising on the piano, you'll find me wandering downtown or plotting my next adventure across the globe. I've lived in Omaha my whole life, so I can show you all the hidden gems around the city, but my soul is a restless traveler with an eye on new cities and cultures. I'm passionate about mindfulness, Buddhism, and holistic living, and I'm always working on growing mentally and physically. When I'm not studying cybersecurity or tinkering with new tech, I love to play video games, go to the gym, and hang out with cool people. I'm down‑to‑earth, open‑minded, and excited to swap stories and laughs with fellow travelers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best travel happens through real human connection, not hotel walls. I’m entering a new phase of life focused on long road trips and long-term world travel, and Couchsurfing is how I meet people, learn cultures from the inside, and experience places beyond the tourist layer. Right now I’m only traveling rather than hosting, but I love sharing stories, skills, meals, and meaningful conversation along the way. My goal is to build friendships across the globe and turn travel into something personal, grounded, and unforgettable.
Interests
I'm a gym enthusiast who loves going for long walks and traveling. I'm also a bit of a tech geek who enjoys video games and learning about cybersecurity. Flying my drone gives me a bird's‑eye view of the world, and I love capturing those perspectives through photography. I'm always up for a walk downtown, a good conversation about philosophy or psychology, and any adventure that pushes me out of my comfort zone.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to audiobooks that teach me more about life and the world. I also particularly enjoy indie and folk rock music. Gregory Alan Isakov is one of my favorite artists. I am not a big movie or TV enjoyer, but I do play video games from time to time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've ridden in a hot air balloon over the Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico City.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the nuances of English, the basics of cybersecurity and IT, how to play piano, and some martial arts moves or meditation techniques. In return, I'm keen to learn your language, recipes, local customs, or any skills you're passionate about. Sharing stories, food and laughter is what it's all about for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a guest, I bring respect, mindfulness and a willingness to help. I can share music on the piano, cook a simple meal, take you out for a dinner or drinks, lend a hand with chores, or even help troubleshoot your tech if needed. I travel light, keep things tidy, and love to contribute in whatever way I can. Expect good conversation, a cheerful attitude, and maybe a drone‑shot photo or two to remember our time together.
