About Me

Currently on a road trip around the West! I'm a writer with ongoing projects, trying to make this road life a reality. Laid back, easy-going... nothing like a good conversation around dinner or a few beers or a campfire, or all of the above.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to put myself out there and explore different people in different places.

Interests

Love to play, whether it's climbing or running or dancing terribly... but I'm probably most interested in you and your experiences. I love to share openly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always hard to pick a favorite. I'm listening to The Decemberists, Neko Case, The Shouting Matches and I like them very much. Gritty blues rock like The Black Keys and The White Stripes. Who couldn't like The Rolling Stones? Or Bob Dylan? I like Ben Lerner's fiction. A little bit of John Krakauer. David Foster Wallace was a favorite of mine, and he writes seriously amazing prose. I'm currently reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Game of Thrones is entertaining, but I also like off-kilter comedies starring female leads like The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt or Broad City. I love comedians: Steven Wright comes to mind, I saw George Carlin and Bill Cosby live, Mike Birbiglia, and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayaked from Isla Wellington to the Pacific Ocean and back
Ice climbed on one of the biggest glaciers in the Southern Hemisphere

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a writer, so I like to play with language. I can teach you how to say "This soup is disgusting, bring me another!" in at least two languages. I can also tell you that if you're looking for easy language credit in college, take Swahili, but if you want to learn an interesting language, take Arabic—exhibit A: your name in MSA calligraphy.

Also, if you need copywriting services for any reason... I'm your dude.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to hear other people's stories and share my own. Old soul with wisdom to share. Happy to cook for you. I make a pretty mean pie. I'm in great shape and I love to experience the outdoors.

Countries I’ve Visited
