Many years ago I knew the man who founded it. I never used it then, but couch-surfed plenty living in Alaska and just being fairly humble in general. It's part of my culture to share.

Now I am doing it because I am launching a startup and I figure if I can save even a handful of dollars over an airbnb or hotel room - and meet cool people - why not?

My cousin and his wife travel the globe using this site, so it must work!
