Hello I'm 69 and I'm English. Originally I come from Worthing, Sussex, England. I came to Denmark for a holiday in 1984 and never went back home. I have a nice clean guest room, with a single bed and a comfy sofa that can be used as a single bed in the living room. Please note the single bed sleeps one and not two. I also have 2 large single mattresses, so if you are two and don't mind the mattresses on the floor, your most welcome to stay. You can use all facilities in the apartment. There's internet or if you have a iPad or ThinkPad, there's wifi. There's also a nice little stereo in the guest room which if you so wish, you can plug your mobile into and listen to your own music. There's clean towels and bedding.

My girlfriend lives in Copenhagen and we both visit each other, so preferably my flat would suit a girl.

When I was young I had a great time hitch hiking around Europe, I met some very nice people, I hope I can also help others out now

I have always found if one travels on a Wednesday, it a little cheaper, maybe its because its the middle of the week, and travel companies need to fill the seats, also book in advance. Here is a good travel links for you,

www.kombardoexpressen.dk is a nice cozy coach ride, and if you can plan your trip in advance very cheap, recommend you make a dinner box as the boat is very expensive.

www.flexbus.dk has cut down its services, Its also a cheap journey,

www.fleetbus.dk The coaches can be cheaper than the trains and if you have a students card, then you get a cheaper price,

DSB.dk if you can plan in advance log on to www.dsb.dk and go down the menu to orange billdet, you may be lucky and get a cheaper ticket, i normally open all 3 at the same time, and find the cheapest. if you get into problems trying to buy a ticket then contact me on FB and i can walk you through the process.

If you get into problems, FB and whatsapp, me you have my name. Please note be honest from the start, if your couchsurfing says 1 traveler, then dont tell me its 2 travelers on whatsapp, Its not respectable to the host, I have experienced a couchsurfer , who got angry as i said no to her and her boyfriend after being told it was 1 traveler then on whatsapp 2 traveler, i think i wrote to her i had a couchsurfer staying with me 3 times before she understood, i also found it a little disrespectful.

My last couchsurfer from Columbia, i gave a good reference to, i give all a good reference, i then got a shock as she implied i was a pervert. Here are some of the things she didn't mention, when i asked how much money she had, i also told her if she needs a little she can repay me when she gets back home, just send it by post. When we were in Århus she looked in discomfort, so i asked her if she would like a massage, i would of paid for her to go and get a massage if that would help her out, sadly i never got the chance to say that, her mind was all ready made up, I'm a pervert. the sad thing is couchsurfing do not allow me to say this. I tried to make a day out for the lady, There was somewhere in Århus that is special, yet i have never been its called Aros. I didn't think twice i paid for everything. It was raining so i took a extra raincoat for her, she moaned it was too big, but it kept her dry, she moaned about Danish coffee, being not as good as Columbian coffee, No disrespect , i thought the Columbian coffee was bitter, and not my kind of coffee, alas being English prefer a strong cup of tea. At the end of the day not a word of thanks, sad really. She ate well while she was here, all guests do. Breakfast consumed of 4 eggs and toast and anything else that was available. When she slept at night no one disturbed her she was very safe, she forgets to mention this while writing her reference, sadly couchsurfing do not allow me to write this side of the story. I could go on a lot more but i wont, if your female and travelling alone, please take time out to read my other references from females that have stayed here

Im 69 years old, i have a quiet and tranquil life, and i prefer to keep it that way. Since 1992 i have had 7 operations, I'm pretty fit, each day is a new and exciting positive day. I work 3 days a week in group, collecting food for people on the lowest form of social money in the system, like people from Ukraine, they are so polite and thankful, and its a pleasure to meet them, we laugh and joke, and it gives one more incentive to do more. I like to listen to music, sometimes i might have the music too loud, i tell people I'm a pensioner and hard of hearing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I use to travel and hitch hike alot when i was young, and i still find that its nice to meet new people. Its also nice to be able to help one out.

The Apps Shelter is a nice little App to have on your mobile. Cyclists and Campers. This will tell you where you can camp for free anywhere in Denmark. This is a very good App to have.

There's pushbike here, which one can use , at ones own leisure.

The massage and Sauna photo, i have used a lot, before i had my first 2 operations i had many massages there, they really did help, they are qualified masseurs, if you body is aching or stiff i recommend this place, its over 100 years old, its segregated, its also a popular place.
