Grüezi! I'm Jon, and I am so grateful to be able to be traveling abroad for the next few weeks. I'm from Portland Oregon in the states, and I am traveling with a good friend of mine from high school. Some general background information, I have lived in Portland my whole life and haven't traveled as much as I'd like (so this is a very new experience), I grew up playing sports with interests in music and interpersonal psychology, one of my favorite things to do (and main goals of this trip) is to meet new people and hear their experiences and stories, and I can enjoy a relaxed evening of conversing and getting to know people as well as going out to the city for a late night.

I am on couchsurfing because I haven't come to this amazing place to have a confined individual experience; I want to meet people and enjoy all these places have to offer with a collection of perspectives. Hearing from local residents where to go in the city, what restaurant to try, what hike to go on, these things are all so valuable. I was shown this website by a friend of mine back home right before we left, so I have not hosted anyone before but if any of you are looking to travel to Portland Oregon I will have a couch available starting in June!

Musica, film e libri

I enjoy reading just about anything recommended to me, recently I've been enjoying books on mindfulness and meditative perspective. My favorite genre of music is rap/soul, Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad, Anderson Paak, The Gorillaz, all favorites of mine but I enjoy just about any kind of music especially if someone can tell me the culture and background of the music.

One of the most amazing things I've ever experienced was visiting Glacier National Park in Montana. I hiked the mountains and tent camped with some friends. Words can't describe this place but I have a feeling I'm going to see a few more places like that before I go back home.

For the next few weeks all I have are my backpack and I, so I will share just about anything else I have to offer! Stories of my home and culture (Trump is fair game, we don't like him either), cleaning and cooking ( I do admit I'm not the best cook, but I will gladly try), helping run some errands, and any way I can say thank you, please don't hesitate to ask if you think of something!
