At home, I work with my friends, creating art as part of a collective.
I use a computer to make animations, programs, apps, websites, and virtual worlds.
When I'm travelling, I take my work with me; I like to always have tools on hand to make stuff if I find a good idea. Part of me would like to stay home and work all the time, but I know my ideas are better when I'm seeing new things.

Travelling helps me refill my creative tank, meeting new people, living different lives.
Travelling can feel like freedom sometimes. Couch surfing is something that would exist in my version of utopia, and contribute to the sort of freedom that I think should exist in the world.

I went to art school and studied new media art, and I've turned that into somewhat of a sustaining career; I do freelance programming and animation, apps and websites and videos.
If I was more studious and academic, I would have liked to study philosophy or history.. However I don't really have the discipline to write and read all the time, need to do things that I find fun, and luckily for me I find programming fun :-)

Movies - Sci Fi, Herzog, Historical documentaries
Books - non fiction, especially about politics, delivered in a way that an arts background guy like me can take in. Any books about technology, Philip K Dick etc.

When I was 19 I hitch-hiked with three friends from the east coast of Canada to the west coast. I don't think I would have the guts to do that anymore, hard to maintain that level of reckless confidence!!

Yes please! I work with computers, I have to learn new things all the time, and I'm pretty thirsty for new things. ALSO I teach classes and workshops about how to use computers to make art in a wide variety of ways, if that's something you're interested in :-)
