ABOUT ME

My hometown is College Station, TX and I'm a Texas boy originally. These days I am a moderate/progressive pastor, serving a small sea-side town in Virginia, USA. I am currently working on my doctorate and I'm interested in how emerging cultural trends influence people's spirituality. I have a wife of almost ten years, and two beautiful boys.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to serve God and people. Love is the ultimate rule of life. Although I am a pastor, I am incredibly open minded to the life perspectives of others, and never get pushy or judgmental about faith or personal values. I am fairly progressive personally, and love learning from others.

I only just joined, but we would be willing to host if it works for our schedule. I am hoping to couchsurf as I travel to do some of my doctoral research, building relationships with people along the way.

I am an avid reader, and enjoy a good discussion on just about anything. I am especially interested in learning about major social issues, and how to bridge cultural divides in order that progress can be made.

We have stood on the equatorial line, having one foot in the northern hemisphere and one foot in the southern. One amazing experience was doing a home stay in a remote Kenyan village for nearly a week! It was a beautiful experience.

We love to cook Mexican food and explore the taste of a great beer or whiskey. Audrey is a tap-dancing champion and Jonathan is a former American Idol contestant.

Jonathan is an expert in writing in English, cooking, public communication, volunteer leadership and web design.
