I am fluent in both English and Korean. I can also communicate rather barbarically in Spanish.

Interests

I enjoy food. My idea of a good vacation consists of sampling local cuisine specialties. I love trying new dishes.

When I'm not eating, I like burning those calories, with some pickup basketball.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While traveling in Chiang Mia, a friend and I set out to tackle a lush, beautiful mountain. We initially were meant to go with a group, but we woke up a little late and decided to make the hike alone. An hour into our hike we realized that we didn't bring enough water with us, but being the young fools that we were, we decided to journey on. We felt that we could go on a bit longer before turning back and we were motivated by the sound of a nearby waterfall. We nearly got ourselves killed trying to find that waterfall. 5 hours in, dehydration hit us like a brick wall. I've never experienced so much exhaustion, so abruptly, in my life. We didn't know what to do. I thought I could die there. We didn't have any water and we hadn't seen another person for hours. Fortunately, we heard the faint sound of a motorcycle in the distance. We hiked up another hour trying to locate the source and hit a small village in the mountain. It was incredible finding the place, but feeling as dehydrated as we were, we could not appreciate it until we had water. We stumbled to the nearest house and asked where we could find water. To our surprise, the man ushered us into his house. His house was bare; a dirt floor and a stone pot next an open fire. We must have looked dogged because he offered us a bowl of rice as well. Cooked in the stone pot and into our bowls, we swallowed it whole like wolves. At that moment I felt like a bum and at the same time I felt a rush of emotion being the recipient of such unconditional kindness. I'll never forget the kindness of that stranger and our near death experience.

The moral of the story? Don't go chasing waterfalls. ;D
