About Me

I've caught the wanderlust bug. Since 2013 I have traveled all around the Philippines and the US. A lot of this travel included volunteering and working a non-profit disaster response organization. I've lived in three areas during my life - Amherst area in MA, Portland OR for 5 years, and Detroit MI for 8 months. As of this update, I will be heading back to Asia, starting with Nepal and then who knows where. I bought a one way ticket. I love learning new things and meeting new people, so depending on who is reading this, hopefully we can do that together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is about the experiences, not the accommodations, at least for me. It's great to find someone who may be willing to let you sleep on their couch, or even their floor. Maybe more importantly, it's even better when you find someone who loves where they live, or know about the better spots to visit and get excited to show the place where they live to another person.

Interests

I love learning and talking about history. I love to hike and be outside. I like to stay up way too late drinking good beer and laughing until I'm out of breath with anyone who wants to laugh with me. I like getting into really deep conversations about the nature of reality, the universe, the past, and the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is probably Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. My favorite book is probably Catch 22. My favorite artist switches back and forth between the Stones and the Beatles. But I listen, read, and watch a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helping to run disaster response projects is probably as close I've gotten to doing something "amazing".
