ABOUT US
We are Jonathan and Rachel (31 and 30), a married Canadian couple who, after nearly 4 years of living abroad, are back home in Calgary. We grew up in Alberta and met In 2009 while studying in university.
On our spare time we like to hang out with friends, exercise and do yoga, cook delicious food and enjoy the company around us.
We are outgoing, easy going, and adventurous :)
PHILOSOPHY
treat people well, take risks, don't look back !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We genuinely believe spending time with locals or people who know a city particularly well gives travellers an amazing advantage when seeing a new place! We have been so lucky over the years, with our many travels being looked after and love to return the favour.
When we lived in Jeonju, South Korea we hosted a few times which was very good, and plan to do it again when we are set up in Melbourne.
Couchsurfing is always my preferred way to go when I travel myself, because I genuinely feel that you get the most out of the city you're in when you are staying with a local. I've had too many wonderful experiences surfing and hosting through CS to name. Will definitely be part of this community for many years to come.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been super lucky these past 10 years of being a member of CouchSurfing and was hosted lots in Europe, New York, Israel and South Korea!
I've also had the pleasure of hosting a few very nice German travellers when I was still back in Canada, and then Guy from Israel and Anna from Denmark in Jeonju, Korea. Recently had a nice Polish couple, some girls from China and 2 great American guys doing fantastic NGO work in SE Asia and Central America.
