ABOUT ME

I'm easy-going with a dry sense of humor. I like putting a smile on people's faces, learning about them, and trying the things that they're passionate about.

PHILOSOPHY

As long as no one's getting hurt, try everything once and if you don't enjoy it, don't knock those who do. I'm very introspective, but I like the improv philosophy of "Don't Think. Act." Be in the moment, follow your instinct, and don't fear failure. It only leads to growth and new opportunities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I backpacked through Asia for several months in 2013 with my brother, who was teaching English in Thailand. When he headed home to the US, I stayed out looking for new adventures and discovered CS in Australia and Japan. It's not just about getting a free room; it's a way to meet people and sometimes get an insiders look at the city from someone with a travelers spirit. Because isn't every experience really contingent on the people you're with? I'm interested in becoming a host when I get home.

Volunteered at a rescue camp for abused elephants in Northern Thailand. Such majestic animals in person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a pretty nice camera and would like to learn more advanced photography. I also love learning new words and phrases wherever I travel. I can teach someone 3 act structure if they're interested in writing and how to edit video.
