About Me
Instagram: jonathan.tshis
I have a spare bedroom and bathroom for you. I love meeting people from all corners of the globe and learning insider tips about the places I visit. I love Africa and believe in its potential; I try to share as much of that passion as possible. Curious about Africa? I am your man.
Spent the early years of my childhood in Congo, lived in South Africa for a while, worked in Mauritius and Singapore, volunteered in Peru, studied in Belgium and I've been living/working in London for the last 8 years. I am down to earth and easy-going and funny - I laugh at my own jokes at least.
I am sure we will find common interests to blab about; one thing for sure is we are already on this platform so cheers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have had the pleasure to travel to +50 countries. I hosted on AirBnB just to meet people; I then found Couchsurfing and I love giving back to the travelling community.
Let's share about our experiences/adventures! For you, it is not every day that you get to befriend someone who hails from the heart of Africa - Congo. Coffee, beer?
Interests
I am quite an avid sport fan - soccer/football/basketball. Go Gunners. I enjoy a good book and wandering around museums. I am inquisitive; I question everything; not always the safest thing to do but it's because I am an INTJ.
I also love a beer at the local pub. I took up scuba diving in Mauritius - that is awesome. Keen hiker, went up Chachani, 6074m up. Always keen to discuss conspiracy theories sometimes....
Sometimes political or religious debates get the better of me. But I am chilled. We will talk about anything.
Good music, good movies, hiking, biking, photography...
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Afrobeats, Passenger, Petit Biscuit, Stromae, The Lumineers, Drake, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar...
Movie: Quentin Tarantino anything
Books: Geez, I have read quite a few, most valuable probably HTMFAIP by Dale Carnegie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked Chachani (6km up) and died a couple of times on the way up - true story. Visited Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Agra(Taj Mahal) in five days.
Teach, Learn, Share
Congolese dance moves a la Rumba.
