Music, Movies, and Books
Music- At the moment I'm rediscovering some old favorite- Modest Mouse, Surfer Blood.
Historically I also enjoy most music, especially if there is someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about that type of music so I can get more into it.
Movies- I don't think I have any tastes that are particularly unique. But as with everything, I enjoy discussing movies with people who are passionate about them, or have a particular interesting interpretation for a given film.
Books- Recently I've been reading a bit of Philip K. Dick, Hyperion, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead. And if I could recommend one fantasy book it would be "Heroes Die"- a very bloody look into what it means to struggle with little hope of success and the thrill of competition with a worthy enemy.
Aside from fantasy I also, unsurprisingly, enjoy books on linguistic topics. I particularly liked "Writing Systems: A Linguistic Introduction" by George Sampson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently, while high as a kite in space, I went to see Rodrigo y Gabriela live. They said the crowd was being too quiet, to get closer. So I spent the rest of the night on stage with two of the most amazing guitarists in the world.
It was a good decision.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, knowledge about any of the languages I've learned or languages in general. I can lay out the basics for meditating and point in the direction of more learning. I'm pretty decent at listening and empathizing as well.
