I'm originally from the Chicago area but have lived in Northampton for a long time. I run five meetup groups, four devoted to media (TV, books, movies) and the sixth to holistic health. Not only is it fun, but it also gives me the chance to plan potlucks and barbecues, movie screenings, and even the occasional group trip to a convention—all in the name of having smart, animated discussions with like-minded people.

📖 Books: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Alchemist, Natural History of the Senses, Botany of Desire, and anything on Greek or Roman history. What are your favorites?

🎬 Movies: I'm definitely a movie buff. Favorites include: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, The Big Lebowski, Office Space, Superbad, Waking Life, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Chinatown, The Pillow Book, Y Tu Mamá También, Slumdog Millionaire, Super Troopers. Sci-fi is my favorite but I enjoy a wide variety. Got any suggestions?

In my professional life, I have done everything from running a contemporary art gallery to working within a business incubator to heading up large holistic health expos in the Northeast. These days, I’m dabbling in web and marketing work and exploring Valley Time Trade—an organization that allows people to barter with skill exchanges rather than with the traditional cash model.
