ABOUT ME
Well, lets get the easy bits out of the way. I'm 5 foot 9, 190 lbs and I'm blind without my glasses. I can be pretty loud, I love to have fun and I love seeing the world.
I will try pretty much anything once, I love meeting new people, seeing new places and experiencing new things. I want to go everywhere in the world, I want to do everything I can do and I plan to do it with a smile on my face.
I'm social, I like going out, getting drunk, dancing and having a good time. Though you may question whether or not I can actually dance and that would be a fair question.
I love concerts, comedians, live sports and plenty more.
PHILOSOPHY
I think life is there to be lived, that you should enjoy it as much as you can. I think you should be open to new experiences and seeing/experiencing new and interesting things.
Mainly I believe in smiling and laughing as much as possible, of course you will have shit times, thats the nature of the beast. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get on with it all again.
I believe the best dancer is the one who is smiling the most!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently I'm just getting my head into it, I'm home now so can't offer a couch but I hope that changes when I get to Vietnam. I will be travelling round Vietnam and once I am I'm hoping to surf peoples couches as I make my way around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None yet! Other than reading the hilarious Sleeping Around by Brian Thacker.
Interests
Sports - I love sports, my degree is in Sports Journalism. I write about Formula 1 for the website www.f1-fans.co.uk and love motorsports.
I'm a huge fan of American sports, especially the NFL and any University of Kentucky Wildcats team. I follow the Cincinnati Bengals and Oklahoma City Thunder.
I love playing football (soccer) more than watching it and am always up for a game of 5-a-side. I follow Middlesbrough and Hartlepool United when I do watch football.
My favourite sport to play though is field hockey, I've been playing for eleven years now and love it. I play for my hometown Hartlepool Caledonians second team up front, currently bagged 11 goals so far this year and I'm hopeful I can help get us promoted before I leave England in March.
That's enough about sports I reckon; I'm also a lover of music, especially live music. I watch plenty of movies and TV series.
I love travelling and seeing the world, I'm interested in new places and new things and seeing everything. I can't wait to make my way around the world.
My degree is in journalism and I love writing. I'm currently trying to turn my blog from Australia into a book. It certainly makes for interesting reading.
I love going out for a good night out too, there's nothing better than a few drinks and some banter with friends, whether you've known them your whole life or five minutes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love books, I read a heavy mix of absolutely anything, from classics to trash and everything inbetween. My favourite author include Tom Clancy, Bill Bryson, Brian Jacques, J.K. Rowling, John Feinstein, Terry Pratchett and Peter King.
I love music, especially live music, you can't beat a good gig when the band is rocking and the crowd are into it. My musical tastes are generally indie/rock but there's many things that don't fit mould on my iPod. Some favourites include Oasis, The Clash, Maximo Park, The Futureheads, Bloc Party and Modest Mouse.
I love a good movie, going to the cinema is the way to see things but my DVD collection is pretty extensive and includes all my favourites. I'm a huge fan of Kevin Smith and I'm a sucker for any movie involving American Football. Favourites? Shawshank, Cool Runnings, Mallrats, Almost Famous, Heat, Chasing Amy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Putting my finger on one is tough but maybe going cage diving with great white sharks in South Australia? Those things are just insane to see up close. Wow.
I also want to list my 21st in New York with my Mom/Sis, storming the field at the Kentucky-Georgia game in 2006, cycling the Golden Gate Bridge, climbing Ayre's Rock/Uluru, skiing in Colorado, Formula 1 races, graduating uni, getting drunk with UClan Hockey, Monday Night Football with the lads and the NFL games at Wembley. Also my leaving/return home parties. Awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach - well I'm qualified to teach English as a foreign language so I guess that's a good place to start.
I also have a degree in journalism so I'm pretty nifty with words. I also have done some photography. I'm good with eBay and I know a hell of a lot about sports.
Learn - I want to learn how to play guitar and a martial art. I also love learning how to cook things from all over the world. I would love people to teach me local dishes from where they live :D
