Overview
About Me
I'm figuring my way through DC, so far as a staff assistant at the International Monetary Fund. I volunteer with Food Not Bombs here, cooking food for the homeless with leftist-types. I love art museums, books, and the occasional demonstration. I'm awfully introspective, and I tend to bring that out in people over the course of a conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a traveler, and so are you! Let's help each other out.
Interests
I love all well-told history, personal and academic. I've studied China a ton, Turkey a bit, and the basic strokes of world history. We can talk politics, movies, cultural identity, whatever you like. Take a look at the picture I uploaded of my new bookshelf to get a good idea, if you're up for it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On a road-trip to get my brother from Connecticut to San Diego for grad school, we stopped off the highway in the middle of nowhere Wyoming to see the Persied meteor shower. After driving down a bumpy dirt road to a campground promontory on a lake, we laid down on a swaying dock with a full view of the sky. We had never seen the stars properly before, so this night as we floated on the water and in space, they were magical.
