About Me
Hi,
I'm a 42 year old husband to an incredible wife (Sonia) and two remarkable girls (Dayle, aged 13 and Mila, aged 7). I'm an entrepreneur who lives at the intersection of the for profit and non profit worlds... which basically means I help CEOs of companies be sustainably profitable by making a difference in the world. I also am the founder of an insect farm...because, why not?! And it helps the planet in a big way (but that's a conversation best had face to face over wine!). Finally I'm kind of a semi-professional speaker, talking to audiences around the world about how to become more sustainable and find their purpose.
I have the most incredible family and my wife is the most awesome community organiser, so our house is always full of great people who are all doing eclectic and wonderful things to make life better for others.
We have a dog and a cat, and when I'm not doing any of the above, I like to make scratchy sounds on the guitar, play blues piano, sit on the porch drinking wine with my wife and tickle my kids.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My wife started couchsurfing a few years ago, and I was always rather skeptical. I'm glad to say that people change, and I've started to embrace the opportunities that come with travelling to a place where you get to meet the folks who live there. Sometimes when I travel I want a soulless and faceless hotel. Sometimes I want to feel more part of the fabric of the place I'm visiting. Couchsurfing is a great way to do that.
We also have a home in Guelph - which is a really lovely city as far as Canadian cities go - which has plenty of space and we are happy to share it with interesting people.
