CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is a research stay at the University of California in Berkeley. During my PhD project about the social movement of people with disabilities, I have to do some research in the University Archive of the UC.
Furthermore, I am really happy to do another stay abroad since I had such a great experience staying for one year in Italy.

ABOUT ME

I am Jonas Fischer, an politics, history, cinema, theatre and sports-interested 30 year old guy, writing his PhD thesis and looking for new contacts all over the world. I spend many times on trips in Europe/Asia and America, from Jordan to Mexiko, from Columbia to Marocco.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like it to get in touch with new people from all over the world. Or when I am travelling with my backpack and meet new people in all kind of Hostels, or over this website. It offers a huge opportunity to get in touch with "real locals" which I did a few times and enjoyed it very much.

If someone wants to travel to the beautiful Ruhr-Area or Cologne he/she is very welcome to contact me, I am sure we'll figure something out.

Music: Ludovico Einaudi, The Police, Bruce Springsteen, Feine Sahne Fischfilet (German Left Punk), Genesis and much more...!

Movies: Dramas, Independent Movies, German and International cinema... I prefer to go to the cinema instead of hanging around and binging netflix.

Books: German and International Authors, I prefer novels to Science Fiction.
