About Me

I grew up in Seattle, WA. I ran track and cross country in highschool. I went to Auburn University in Auburn, AL for my undergrad and back to Seattle for my masters in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington. Afterwards I followed work to Pittsburgh, PA where I worked as a environmental scientist for a little over a year. I began hiking the Appalachian trail in April of 2015 and decided to get off the trail at the half way point to bike across the country instead.

I am fun and easy going. I'm always looking for something new to do or learn. I enjoy meeting people and hearing what stories they have to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am embarking on a bike trip from Pittsburgh, PA to Boulder, CO then up the west coat to Seattle, WA. I am hoping to meet interesting people with lots of local perspective while traveling on a budget.

Interests

I enjoy most anything outdoors. Hiking, biking, snowboarding, climbing, kayaking, running, etc. I also like playing guitar, cooking, socializing, and learning/experiencing new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently spent three and a half months hiking the southern half of the Appalachian trail.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am decent at math, proficient at engineering problems and awful with languages. I would love the opportunity to learn more about cooking, nutrition and farming.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tails of travel...I am an excellent laborer and enjoy chopping wood. I can help out around the house or in the yard and I am always interested in a lively discussion.
