About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I desire to see hospitality and friendship be lived in me and be realized in others. The world is a lonely place when you can't trust anybody.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy a good laugh. That's probably my best descriptor, but don't let that fool you into thinking I'm never serious. One of the things I enjoy most is having a passionate and intellectual conversation with others about issues that really matter. I am indeed a Christian, though I'd agree with anybody who isn't that the church has more issues than I can count. I refuse to sit around and condemn others, unlike far too many Christians. More than that, I'm very interested in genuinely listening to others' thoughts, ideas, and traditions.

PHILOSOPHY

The purpose of my life is to love, though I'm far from it now.

I think individualism is lame, though I'm indeed a child of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hopefully someday I'll host. I really want to. For now, I make it a point to couch surf whenever possible when I travel.

Interests

I am somewhat geeky in that I enjoy technology and am interested in just about every gadget there is.

I love discussing politics, history, economics, theology, cinematography, and many other subjects as well.

I have never been out of the states before living in Switzerland to study for about 6 months. I hope to see a lot more in the future. I love seeing new places.

Oh, and how could I forget: I love coffee. A lot. My favorite kind of coffee, at least that I have tried thus far, is Sumatran coffee. A Sumatra french press with a shot of chocolate syrup and a shot of creamer will make all my worries fade away.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies are definitely comedies. I enjoy independent movies, and I really love those by Wes Anderson and the Coen Brothers.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as things I have to share, that's an interesting question. Overall, I'm the type of person that randomly breaks out into educational lectures about just about every subject. Some of my friends find it annoying. Others find it endearing. Typically, it's about something I'm passionate about.

If you really want to get me started, you could bring up the subject of the Christian church or the Bible. Now, don't get me wrong. I hate it when people just start preaching at others. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm saying that if you want an interesting take and perspective on the church, probably one you haven't heard much of, just let me know. You'll have to ask for my rants, because I don't like it when people are unsuspectingly victimized with that kind of stuff. But it's something I'm passionate about, and I'm passionate about hearing what others have to say.
