About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Win dual Nobel prizes for literature and peace by writing a novel that makes people go, "Oh yeah, that war stuff really is kinda stupid..."

ABOUT ME

My name is Jonathan Hignett, please pull up a comfy chair in my 'all about me' section and make yourself at home here.
Okay, so I'm about 188cms tall, with grey/blue/orange eyes. I used to have a beard and occasionally I do find myself missing stroking it, it made me feel wise, and any wisdom - even beardy wisdom - has got to be a good thing right?
I'm intrested mainly in literature and aspire to write something worth reading. I write mainly short stories, though I have written a fantasy novel for teenagers, and at the moment I'm writing a compilation of short stories inspired by my feelings of living in Japan.
I love to travel and find that meeting new people is a great way to learn about a country and its culture; I'm really looking forward to CouchSurfing helping me with this.
Aside from Literature I also love football and rugby, good food, and music (Usually Jazz, folk or rock) and I like to cook - especially curries.
I studied Special effects design at University and have worked on a couple of films before also working as an AutoCad designer but I've had a few jobs including a butcher and telephone sales (Sorry!)
I am quick to laugh, slow to anger and have a very philosophical view on life, so very few things phase me for a long time.

PHILOSOPHY

To find anybody that I can connect with, even if only for a moment, because thats all that life really is - a series of moments connected by empty space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only positive so far. I was introduced to Couch-surfing by my girlfriend and so far have surfed around Switzerland and Japan, before hosting in Japan.
