ABOUT ME
Hey couch surfers! My name is Joni. I'm originally from Buffalo, New York, USA, but I grew up all over the US and Latin America and now I live in the great city of Toronto, Canada. I'm an outrageously positive and friendly person, and I love meeting new people and having adventures. I just graduated from the University of Toronto, and I'm currently working as a freelance photographer for a newspaper here in the city. My dream is to either be an international photojournalist or a documentary filmmaker (or both, why not?).
If you're in Toronto and want to hang out with someone who loves this city and loves showing it off, send me a message! I know this place like the back of my hand, and I would be thrilled to show you all of its best kept secrets :)
I'm new to CS, and I'm pretty excited about the concept. Can't wait to start meeting people!
PHILOSOPHY
"My favourite thing is to go where I have never been." - Diane Arbus.
" Porque todos, toditos tenemos algo que decir a los demas; alguna cosa que merece ser por los demas celebrada, o perdonada.â - Eduardo Galeano
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I do have a couch, BUT -full disclosure here - my apartment is absolutely tiny. My couch is child-sized and right next to my bed, and I have two dogs... such is the life of a recent graduate I guess! But if you're in a pinch and not too fussy about where you crash, I would be happy to host you!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am new to this, but I've heard great things and I LOVE the concept of networking with cool, interesting people from around the world!
Interests
TRAVEL is my passion. I started collecting travel books and National Geographic when I was just 5 years old... I had over 200 by the time I was 7! Took my first solo trip to Ecuador at 15, and never looked back. I also love photography, documentary films, music, hockey (I'm a northerner at heart!), and DANCING (SALSA and anything else). Of course, nothing makes me happier than hanging out with cool, interesting people :)
