About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have a mission.

ABOUT ME

I'm 29 years old.

I love science fiction, especially and voraciously Dr Who. Also enjoy all the "Stars": Trek/Wars/Gate/Search. ;)

I enjoy cooking. This is my biggest passion, and if you love to cook or just eat, then I'm your guy.

Ĉu vi parolas Esperanton? Mi, ankaŭ!

I am totally in love with Salt Lake City. I am a transplant, but have made this place a home. A friend once said that I should get a job as a Salt Lake City spokesman. If you want to know what makes this place unique and great, and don't mind a history lesson, then I'm the right person.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an atheist. I am not one of those condescending assholes, though. If belief makes you happy, then go for it. Just don't try to convert me. I am cool with reasoned debate, though. :-) I think that the world is an amazing place, and the fact that we even exist fills me with joy and wonder. I feel that morality comes from treating others as we would expect to be treated.

Why do we exist? Don't know. But, whatever the reason (if any)I am going to enjoy this world as much as possible. The future is an adventure!

"A million people can call the mountains a fiction, yet it need not trouble you as you stand atop them." - http://xkcd.com/154/

Other that not being a god person, I believe that I should aspire to be the best person I can be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted 6 people now!

Also, I go to local CS events, and organized the Mid Week Happy Hour event in Salt Lake City for couch surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have officially hosted 5 people. I would like to host more, as well as surf. I am planning a trip next summer, and I definitely want to couch surf. :)

I have been to several CS events here locally, and started the Salt Lake Midweek Happy Hour.

Interests

I am interested in science and language. I speak Esperanto intermediately, but I am a bit rusty. If you don't know what Esperanto is...google it. I am also a conlanger. Yeh, google that one, too.

I love to cook, and nothing makes me happier than cooking a yummy meal for my friends (or possibly a couchsurfer!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything science fiction, especially the works of Robert J. Sawyer.

My musical tastes are eclectic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to live in Northern Idaho, and one cold, clear night I stepped outside about 3 AM and saw the Northern Lights. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Ribbons of undulating green light danced against a field of bright stars with the Milky Way splashed behind the pulsing brilliance. I stood in awe and wonder...until I realized I couldn't feel my nose. I went back inside a little humbler.
