About Me

"I was raised by wolves."

No, that's not true... How about this, "I'm the son of a billionaire businessman who owns 5 houses in Paris, London, and Madrid and a fleet of yachts."

No, that's not true either. Hmm... this is harder than I thought.

The Truth: My name is Jon. I'm a freelance film producer born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI (otherwise known as "Beer City, USA"). I come from a big family, so we didn't travel a ton growing up, but now I'm making sure that I do a lot of it. Recently, I just finished a road trip across the entire Western United States for 24 days stopping in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. And also within the last year, I've traveled to Melbourne, Australia and New York City. My favorite places that I've visited to date have been the Grand Canyon in Arizona and Los Angeles.

When I travel, I really want to get away from the tourist traps. They're nice, yes, but I want to get to know what the city is truly about. Where should I go to relax, see nature, experience the best food, drinking or coffee? What does a native of this area truly enjoy doing. And when I'm staying with people, I really enjoy getting to know them and seeing what makes them tick and what their favorite places are in the city, BUT I do not expect them to entertain me the whole time; I realize they have the busyness of their daily lives. I'm very self-sufficient and clean, so you never have to worry that I'm going to bother you to death or leave your place a complete mess!
