About Me

I am a current university student back in Minnesota, I spend my summers travel teaching, aupairing, or just exploring and learning about different parts of the world. I study art, education, French, and culture at my university. I am a morning person mainly for the sunrises. I think space is neat and in my free time I listen to podcasts, read, paint, sculpt, hike, or do nothing but listen to music in the most scenic place I can find. I am really big on nature, and finding hidden places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and to meet new people while traveling. I do most of my traveling alone and so it is nice to meet people while I am adventuring to pass the time with.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music, Belle & Sebastian, The Velvet Underground, The Flaming Lips, The National, Trampled by Turtles, Cat Power, most classical music, St, Vincent, Iron & Wine, The Antlers, Neutral Milk Hotel, and many many many many many more!
I love older books, Virginia Woolf, Steinbeck, Vonnegut, Hemingway, Cunningham, Orwell, anything you put in front of me. Right now I am really big on Vonnegut. I enjoy the classics.
As far as movies go, I am not very picky, I do however find myself watching rom coms from the 80's and 90's a lot. I watch a lot of documentaries too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have gotten the opportunity to teach in France and am currently teaching in Nepal. Traveling and being able to meet new people and learn about cultures and create families in countries that I have dreamed of going to since I was a child is really amazing for me. I never knew that I could learn this much or feel the way that I do when I travel. I am happier than I have ever been, and have seen more and learned more than I though possible. I have been to seven different countries in the past year (excluding the US) and am hoping to visit many many more.
