About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To bring about the Age of Mending
ABOUT ME
I call myself an artist but instead of paintings I make manifestos, and then I try and make them happen, bringing about the most joy possible along the way. For the rest of my life Iâve decided to buy no more clothes and be a living experiment in zero clothing consumption.
I am happiest stewing rhubarb from the garden or baking biscuits for a friend embarking on a long journey. In practice it's a real treat to get time to do any of this and my veg plot has been pathetic.
My ultimate luxury is a lingering siesta. My to do list is typically unrealistic but I thrive on pushing things to the limit and having fun too. I can be very organised but not disciplined. I break rules and take risks, especially in my driving as I learnt abroad.
I have a soft spot for pandas, my ambitions are to see my blue hydrangea cuttings in full bloom and to be couchsurfing into my 90s.
PHILOSOPHY
The Aesop's fable, the Sun and the North wind. I read it when I was 5 and decided to be the sun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love getting to know new couchsurfers and making friends from all over the world. I can make a good local tourist guide too. I love the way couchsurfing attracts all the best people that you'd want to meet.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like music on the fringes like ethiopian funk, punk jazz, latin hiphop, cool brass bands and dubstep. I also listen to chamber music and some contemporary classical. If I need to concentrate I'll work to Iranian classical or Indonesian gamelan.
I enjoy independent cinema and international arthouse. It's like a form of travel.
I'm constantly reading exciting things for the PhD but am making myself read more fiction as a writer told me it's the only way to learn to write.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once walked 900km alone with a tiny rucksack.
Teach, Learn, Share
Would-be crocheters, I'd love to share my skills, and get your old socks ready, I'm heralding a new era of darning.
Countries I’ve Visited
