ABOUT ME

I am Jonne, 25 years. Normally I live in the beautiful city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I work there as carpenter, and i build indoor climbing walls. I used to work in a student cafe in Amsterdam, but since two years i am my own boss, which allows me to work as carpenter and do all different kinds of assignments’. Right now i am traveling with my brother. we went from Nepal to India, and now we are trying to go from Bangkok overland back to Amsterdam. so we will be passing Laos, china, Kazakhstan, Azerbeidzjan, Georgia, turkey and the Balkans.
I have lived in Amsterdam now for 5 years, so know the city well. before i came to Amsterdam i used to live in the south of Holland, in Maastricht. a beautiful city with an old center.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no experience with CouchSurfing through this website, but i have couchsurfed before. by meeting people during traveling i slept on couches before, and i had people staying over multiple times in Amsterdam. staying at people that now the city and the country i am traveling in, enables me to meet the culture and the people far more easily compared to staying in a hostel and doing the touristic sightseeing’s. that’s why i am a member now, i want to meet people that live in the cities, and i would like to show people the city where i live in, Amsterdam.

Interests

Traveling and try to leave the places that are invaded by tourism behind. I know its difficult, but when I succeed, then I have the real feeling of traveling. That moments are the moments that grab me, and that’s the way I try to spend my time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the land of kings in India, Rajasthan. That was amazing, fortresses as big as mountains, palaces as luxurious (for those times) I have never seen before.
Hitch-hiking eastern Europe, I met so many people and even 10 hours away from where I live, the culture is totally different. Really nice to see that sometimes you don’t have to travel far to see things you’ve never seen before.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cambodia, China, France, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Netherlands, Spain, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Netherlands
