About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I like to be the unofficial ambasodor and tour guide of queens, the future #1 travel destination in the USA!
ABOUT ME
Living in Queens, New York is a mini opportunity to be a world traveler before and after work. There are 160+ languages spoken throughout this borough!
I presently work full-time for a worker protection program enforcing medical screening for nuclear weapons workers who were exposed to hazardous chemicals. I have a master's degree in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the Hunter College School of Public Health and play around town with my band. It's a busy life, but when those things aren't happening, I love to explore Queens to find the best and most authentic foods and people.
PHILOSOPHY
Ask me when we meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have had a great experience surfing in Canada and California. Hosted a bunch of great people a few years ago. Once again, I have a cool roommate and a great place! Come on by. We are about a 12 minute walk to the train and about 20 minutes from Manhattan. Our area of Queens (Astoria), is right on the river front, with a great park and tons of local and diverse eating and drinking. Super safe, laid-back and convenient!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had the time of my life in Toronto surfing-partaking in an authentic Ethiopian afternoon! Also, great time in SF and meeting people in NYC. Looking to get more involved after a few years off come this summer.
