About Me
Hi there!
My name is Jonny and I am a History student at the university of Edinburgh, Scotland. This is my first time trying couch surfing, I am travelling through the US for 3 months and would love to meet people and get to know places through the people that live there .
I love travelling, meeting people, sharing stories, learning from others...As well as good food, music and hikes in the hills and mountains.
Since I am new to couch surfing, you can find out more about me on my Facebook profile: https://www.facebook.com/jrosstatam?ref=bookmarks
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling, meeting people from all around the world and learning from others and about the world around me. Couch surfing is a great way to do this. You are not just meeting fellow travellers, but people that live where you are and know all the good spots, the things to do and what makes their home town/place tick. You are experiencing a place from the people that live there.
Right now, looking to do a proper American road trip and stay with people who know the ins and outs of their neighbourhoods. I want to take in as much of the U.S. as possible in the next 3 months.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I love listening to all sorts, from folk to indie to house/dance music. Ideal place to listen to it is in a good view spot, on a sunny day with portable speakers.
Movies - anything from Wes Anderson films (like the Darjeeling Limited) to multi-part epic blockbusters (like Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games and Harry Potter), to historical biopics like 'Lincoln' and documentary films like 'The House We Live In' and 'Inequality for All'.
Books - 'On the Road' and Dharma Bums (Jack Kerouac). Doris Kearns Goodwin's 'Team of rivals'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travel wise - I spent 3 weeks travelling around Morocco and spent a night under the stars in the Sahara Desert. Was unbelievable, have never seen stars like them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I also (if you're interested) did a TEDx talk at the University of Edinburgh on 'We Shouldn't Have To Work Just To Survive'. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3U6tEcIIAIc
