Interests
My Interests in General: My kids, Art, Cashmere, Music, The New York Yankees, Tuna Sushi, my friends, sitting in the sun, The NY Post sports section and Page 6, Veuve Clicquot, the way things smell, and my dysfunctional but lovable, neurotic jewish family also seem to play a huge part in my life. I like nice linings in nice clothes, and other things like that. I am also just as happy in my jeans. t-shirts and Flip-Flops. I love NYC, but also love Palm Beach, Steamboat Springs, The Bay Area, LA and SD too. I like to travel, I like running into old friends. I love sleeping in late, and reading the NY Times in bed on Sunday.

Musical Interests beside Bob Dylan from the "Recently Played" list from my iPod includes: Muddy Waters, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Built To Spill, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, John Coltrane, Jerry Garcia, Toots and The Maytals, Chris Baron, Sublime, U2, Santana, Traffic, Tribe Called Quest, Ray Charles, Widespread Panic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Ziggens, The Who, Husker Du, Sugar, Phish, The Talking Heads, Oasis, The Stones, Billie Holiday, Led Zeppelin, Dave Brubeck, The Clash, Peter Tosh, Slightly Stoopid, The Beatles, Charlie Parker, Robert Johnson, BEASTIE BOYS, The Kinks, Lou Reed, Pearl Jam, Morecheeba, David Bowie, The Band, Joni Mitchell, Massive Attack, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Black Crowes, Sonny Rollins, Duke Elligton, Snoop Doggy Dog, World Party, The Strokes, Cracker, Chuck Berry, Prince, Little Walter, Curtis Mayfield, Cypress Hill, The Supremes, Derek & The Dominoes, Buzzcocks, Paul Oakenfold, The Specials, Steve Miller Band, Steely Dan, The Beat, G Love and Special Sauce, Jaik Miller, The Replacements, Social Distortion, George Gershwin, Parliment Funkadelic, Gorillaz, Gov't Mule, Warren Haynes, Green Day, The Guess Who, Iggy & The Stooges, Jack Johnson, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Queen, The Jam, James Brown, Jane's Addiction, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Laurie Berkner, Liz Phair, Long Beach Dub AllStars, Shades of Grey, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sly and The Family Stone, Wladyslaw Szpilman, Nestor Torres, Frank Zappa, War, X, Weezer, The Cure, Portishead & KISS. My Cinenmatic interests are as follows: The most memorable movie that I have seen recently was "Match Point", by Woody Allen. I pretty much love most of his films, as well as those by Martin Scorsece, Quentin Tarantino (recently saw Death Proof & loved it), The Farelley Brothers, Akira Kurosawa, The Cohen Brothers, Alfred Hitchcock, Mel Brooks, Billy Wilder, Francois Truffaut, Steven Spielberg & Stanley Kubrick. I also like westerns, good war movies, comedies, some sci-fi & scary stuff, musicals, old movies, anything that is truly an "Epic", & anything with or about the Marx Brothers. If I had to rattle off some movies that would be in my DVD collection, not that I would ever really watch them, it would surely include at least the following: Goodfellas, Jaws, The Lion King, The Godfather 1 and 2, Casino, Double Indemnity, Lawrence of Arabia, Diva, Schindler's List, The Pride of The Yankees, Pulp Fiction, There's Something About Mary, Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Slapshot, Casablanca, Treasure of The Sierra Madre, The Good The Bad & The Ugly & Many many more, but I can't do this anymore... Television: CALIFORNICATION! Other than that, not watching that much TV these days. NY Yankees Baseball. Books: Currently reading "Underworld" by Don Delillo, and "Gravity's Rainbow" by Thomas Pynchon. My favorite book ever is most certainly "Infinite Jest", by David Foster Wallace (RIP). HOLY SHIT! Read this book if you can! Recently finished "Killing Yourself to Live" & "IV" both by Chuck Klosterman. "Everyman" by Philip Roth, "Humbolt's Gift" & "Henderson the Rain King", both by Saul Bellow, "Blood & Thunder" by Hampton Sides. Also, "Palimpsest" & "Point to Point" by Gore Vidal, "Unanswered Prayers" by Truman Capote (eh), "What's Bred In The Bone" by Robertson Davies & "Sweet & Low" by Rich Cohen (2 Thumbs Up). Great Story that at times was like reading into a mirror. I tend to like biographical, historical kind of stuff, I recently finished & really enjoyed "Lincoln", also by Gore Vidal. I have read all HST. Even the letters which were very, very interesting. Love Proust, Vonnegut, JD Salinger, Faulkner, EE Cummings, Ezra Pound, & Baudelaire too! Also most of the older Russian Lit. that I read in college. Again, I tend to like things that are sort of epic in scope, although, beautiful poems, images & certain lines from things are what I retain most. If you know of a book that you think I might like, please let me know as I have been reading a ton lately.
