About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn, Explore, Experience.

ABOUT ME

I am always up for doing something; new experience or an old one. I grew up on a farm near a town of ~300 people in North Dakota, USA. Now, I live in Shanghai with +20,000,000 people. So much of the world left to see.

PHILOSOPHY

Going for it with half an effort will get basically the same results as not going for it at all. Go for it, or go for it not.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think this is a great concept and would like to start participating. I would like to travel about via CS and would also like to host. I live in the French Concession in Shanghai. This is a good starting point for exploring the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For years I've been crashing on friends couches throughout the US. I've even stayed with friends that are in CS without knowing CS existed.

Interests

Traveling, meeting new people, eating, cooking, excercising, people watching, hiking/walking, and 2 wheel vehicles.

  • scuba diving

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music in dive bars and documentaries are things I usually enjoy any night of the week.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most exciting days I've been a part of was the St. Patrick's Day celebration in Dublin, Ireland. My friends and I watched the parade from atop a phone booth because the streets were far too packed to see much. We finished watching the parade from the top of St. James Gate. In there, the bagpipers were so loud we could barely hear each other talk. I've not seen another city celebrate quite like that.

I've also gone scuba diving under ice in Minnesota, USA and in caves near Tulum, Mexico. Both were great experiences. It's a bit of an adreline surge to go exploring underwater knowing your only way out is a hole in the ice or an opening in a cave.

Teach, Learn, Share

I try to keep my eyes and ears open for continuous learning.
