ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Joohye Lee, and I live in Gyeonggi-do, about an hour by public transportation or 30 minutes by car from Seoul. I work as a Business PM in the gaming industry and am always eager to broaden my perspective through interactions with diverse people.
I’m an outgoing person who enjoys meeting new people and engaging in meaningful conversations. While I used to love indulging in delicious food, I'm currently focusing on improving my health and working on losing weight, so I’m holding back a little! Instead, I’m trying to build a consistent exercise routine. Recently, I’ve also been interested in exploring new business opportunities as part of my long-term goals.
I find great joy in learning about different cultures and expanding my horizons through conversations with people from all walks of life. I hope that my experiences and stories can inspire others and lead to meaningful exchanges.
PHILOSOPHY
There is no absolute thing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was browsing travel websites when I came across this one.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In 2011, I traveled to Hokkaido, Japan with my mother and stayed at the apartment of Amanda, an English teacher living there, for two days. I was nervous at first, but I quickly realized there was no need to be. The experience was far more comfortable and exciting than I expected! Amanda was incredibly kind, and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together. It was such a positive experience that I’d love to do it again!
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to meet amazing hosts and fellow travelers while visiting places like Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, and Chamonix with a friend, as well as traveling solo to Spain and India. Sometimes I was grateful to be offered a place to stay, and other times I simply enjoyed meetups that made the trip even more enjoyable.
One of the most memorable experiences was meeting Margaux in Chamonix. A few years later, when I had the chance to visit Switzerland, I took a train back to France just to see her again. We recognized each other instantly, and it was such a heartwarming reunion!
More recently, after rediscovering Couchsurfing, I had the pleasure of meeting new friends in Hoi An and Da Nang. Even after all this time, Couchsurfing continues to offer me wonderful experiences and connections that I hope to maintain for years to come.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all kinds of movies, music, and books, as long as they’re well made. Everything has its own charm.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the greatest things I've done is arranging a special 60th birthday trip for my parents. Using the detailed 30-day plan I created, my parents, who had never traveled on their own, were able to enjoy a trip to Eastern Europe. It took a lot of effort, but it's something I’m still incredibly proud of to this day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I find learning new things to be incredibly fun, especially when meeting people from different cultures. Since they come from different backgrounds and experiences, I really enjoy sharing insights that emerge from these conversations.
Additionally, I have a passion for learning languages, so I’m always open to language exchanges!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Although my space is limited, I can share my home, and if our schedules align, we might be able to spend time together. Even if we can’t hang out in person, I’d be happy to help if you encounter any challenges during your stay in Korea. Most importantly, I can be a pleasant conversational partner!
